REVIEW: Twelve+1 Drowned Rats

The thirteenth, Lou Sanche, was holding the camera. It was an intrepid group that set out this Tuesday for the lookout at Squally Reach, hoping

against hope that the rain would abate. It didn’t. The photo shows an overcast, leaden sky. It got wetter.
After hiking up to the lookout, we hiked all the way down to sea level at McKenzie Bight (at least most of us did, two or three took a shortcut home). The greenery, the moss, the waterfall, the rain bouncing off Saanich Inlet all reminded us of why we love living on the west coast, tsunami or not.
Thanks for coming, submitted by Hugh Stephens.
