Dominion Brook Park Tour, N Saanich

This Newsletter is going to all paid-up VRMNC Members.
VRMNC Field Trips has arranged for a guided tour of Dominion Brook Park on Wednesday, August 5 at 10:00 a.m. The tour allows up to a maximum of 12 participants. Physical distancing will be practised. We will meet at the park entrance at 8801 East Saanich Rd, North Saanich shortly before 10:00 a.m. The park is located just south of and across the road from the Panorama Recreation Centre.

Description: Dominion Brook Park comprises 4.5 hectares on East Saanich Road. The park was originally developed in 1913 and maintained by the Federal Government as an ornamental garden. It has been re-established for public use with the help of funds from the District of North Saanich, the Provincial Capital Commission and the Millennium Bureau of Canada. The park contains a natural watercourse which flows into a series of manmade ponds and there are many specimen trees and flowering shrubs. The Friends of Dominion Brook Park is a non-profit society of volunteers dedicated to re-establishing the unique heritage of the park and working to rehabilitate its plant life which includes many rare and exotic species.

Tickets: Click green button below to register through VRMNC Website, maximum 12, VRMNC Members only.

Cost: No charge. However, donations to Friends of Dominion Brook Park are welcome to help volunteers with maintenance of the park.

Parking: On the shoulder of East Saanich Road near the park entrance.
