The VRMNC Executive have completed a detailed review of the Members’ Survey and would like to thank all of the Members that took the time to provide their views on where the VRMNC should be headed in the near future. The results of the survey were very positive with many thoughtful and constructive suggestions. What follows is an overview of the survey results. When the Survey was closed at the end of February, 140 Members had voted which was 46% of the paid membership. Attendance at a Chinese New Year and/or a Sikh New Year functions showed 44% and 34% in favour respectively. Sixty percent preferred a dinner function for the Chinese New Year with 49% choosing a dinner function for the Sikh New Year. Over 60% of the Members were in favour of including spouses and partners at these functions. There were several suggestions for other days to celebrate including St. Patrick’s Day, Remembrance Day and July 1st. Fifty-four percent of the Members supported including spouses/partners/guests in VRMNC functions.

In addressing the question of inclusivity, 95% of the Members agreed that VRMNC was an inclusive social club. The 5% of the Members that did not agree ( and left their name or email ) were consulted by Executive Members to better understand their concerns. When asked for comments and suggestion, Members were overwhelming responsive with more than 40 contributions.
