Field Trip – Tour of Parliament Buildings – April 9th

April 9 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm
Free

Our next field trip will be on Thursday, April 9th with a tour of the Parliament Buildings, home of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, followed by lunch in the Parliamentary Dining Room.
A design competition was held in 1892 for the new Parliament Buildings, with 62 architectural firms from across North America responding. The winner – 25 year old Francis Rattenbury, went on to become one of Victoria’s most famous architects whose projects include the Empress Hotel and the CPR Steamship Terminal.
The Parliament Buildings officially opened in 1898.
