New Membership Renewal Procedure

Now that the new VMNC website is fully operational, we are adding PayPal to its features and are changing the method of annual dues payment to a fully on-line process.  This will integrate the liability waiver acceptance by members and the dues payment process.  At present, we are not using PayPal for anything but the annual dues, but may include lunches and other events at a later date.

We have not increased the annual dues for at least a decade, although our costs keep rising.  Therefore, your Executive decided at its last meeting that an increase to $25, to cover the general increase in our cost structure was warranted for the 2017-18 year.

Within the next few days, you will receive an automated email advising you that your membership is due for renewal (the year runs July 1 – June 30).  At your convenience but, preferably, before the September AGM so that you can vote, please log in to your account and complete the registration process for 2017-18.  The process is as follows:

1. Sign on to vrmnc.ca. Click on Members Login
2. Click on My Account
3. In My Memberships, click on Renew
4. Verify/update any Profile data fields
5. VERY IMPORTANT – If you already subscribe to the newsletter, DO NOT check the subscribe box as this will cancel your existing subscription (since it assumes you must be a new member).
6. YOU MUST check off the Privacy Statement and Liability Waiver.
7. Click on the PayPal Check Out at the bottom of the page
8. If you already have a PayPal account and want to use it, login and make your payment. If not, click on the link marked “credit or debit card”.
9. Fill in the credit/debit card info fields and complete payment.
10. A receipt message confirming your payment should appear.  I found that, by default, if you use your PayPal account, it will assume that this should be an annual payment and will send an email to that effect, in addition to the confirmation email.  While that makes life simpler, if you do not want that, or have not set up PayPal to not default to this, you will need to log in to your PayPal account and cancel the annual payment feature for the payment.

Please note that this is now the only method of paying annual dues.  We will no longer accept payment at lunches and other events, nor informally through activity coordinators.
