Twenty Four members and some wives enjoyed a free ferry trip to and from Tsawwassen on Wednesday, 18 April.  The group was split into two to visit the Navigation Deck;  the first  half   learned many things about the safety improvements installed on the sister ship, Spirit of British Columbia, prior to our host vessel, Spirit of Vancouver Island, being upgraded in the Netherlands starting next October.  The group also had all the instruments, fuel, navigation aids and controls explained in depth by a recently retired BC Ferris employee.  After emerging from Active Pass the second dozen had its chance for a similarly memorable experience.

Everyone enjoyed the varied fare offered on the lunch buffet, which successfully closed out yet another activity triumphantly arranged by Glenn Soares.
