I am composing this newsletter in absentia from the warm and sunny shores of Lake Windermere in the East Kootenays. Derry McDonnell is going to compose and edit the July – August and September – October 2017 issues.

I will be back in Victoria in October and I am hopeful that I will be sitting down with the new editor at that time to jointly produce the November – December 2017 issue.

We are requesting that all third party notice requests be directed to Glenn Soares, the Events Director.  If event notices are received well in advance of the event date there is a high probability that we can include them in the Newsletter.

I am still always looking for local restaurant reviews and write ups of regional travel adventures and any other information you deem worthy of inclusion, from the members and event coordinators. Just submit them to editor@vrmnc.ca.  I would like to encourage photos to be taken and submitted to me following every club lunch along with a brief summary of the function. I would also like photos at reasonable intervals from the various bridge, tennis, golf and investment groups. They identify the activity and showcase the participants.

Please ensure that all photos submitted are in landscape mode. Our finicky program can not handle portrait mode. Also please let me know if we have incorrect emails, spelling errors, etc.
